About Us

Both natives of South Dakota Monte and Lana have lived in New Mexico for over 35 years. They have been in the buffalo industry for almost two decades. It started with two orphan calves from the Bison ranch where "Dances with Wolves" was filmed, and a life long interest in buffalo became a passion with Monte. Their animals are humanely cared for...and their breeding program has a strong focus on horn growth and massive animals for record-book trophies!

Considered a Mom & Pop outfitter, they strive to make each hunter feel welcome. Their our goal is to make this a "Hunt of a Lifetime" that each hunter will remember and talk about for years to come.

Working closely with the Bonanza Creek Ranch, the hunts take place on 5000 acres of rugged, high desert country. BCR is not only a working longhorn ranch but also a movie set and home of Silverado, Into the West, Lonesome Dove, Wild Hogs and many more feature films over the past 20 some years.

Making their debut in the world of SCI at the Reno Convention in 2005, thousands of attendees admired their FULL BODY BISON
MOUNT and commented on the fabulous work done by Dennis Otero, Majestic Monarch Taxidermy.

Most recently added to the program are YAK and the European Wisent - which are in very low numbers in the United States. These animals were once hunted in Poland and Romania, now considered an endangered species.

This rare genetically white (not albino) buffalo now is part of the LaMont Family. Beau has been featured at the Indian Village at EXPO New Mexico, been invited to the Jay Leno show, and participated in the Topping Off Ceremony at Buffalo Thunder Resort in Pojoaque, NM.

Watch for his appearances. Currently scheduled to re-appear at
Buffalo Thunder, Red River NM "Days of 1895' and various locations.
